- Double check the Social Security Numbers and Employer ID number.
- Never use more than one Employer ID number, prepare a second Form 2848.
- Be sure to enter all the information in the columns in paragraph 3.
- Double check that all signatures have been obtained.
- Double check to make sure that all the signatures have been dated.
Be sure to provide accurate information in each section. Submitting a valid POA (power of attorney) on a properly completed Form 656 will help the offer proceed more smoothly.

Be sure the POA includes every form related to your tax problem, ie, 1040, 1120s or 1120c. If both personal and business are not included the IRS will call you on the forms not included and attempt to gather information on the forms that were included. This was a backdoor trick tried on me by 4 seperate IRS employees during the time my offer was being considered.
